
The Festival – Cheltenham Racecourse
Jump racing’s biggest festival comes to Cheltenham Racecourse during the first half of March, the finest horses and jockeys will be ‘chomping at the bit’ to make racing history.
The festival commences with Champion Day, featuring the Stan James Champion Hurdle, and six further races, including the Fighting Fifth Hurdle, the International Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle trial, along with the atmosphere of first day racing; this is a must for all racing fans.
Ladies Day is on 11th March. A Milliner’s dream, hats of all sizes, shape and colour will be on show, and along with the Betway Queen Mother’s Champion Chase, will prove a colourful and fun event.
With plenty of Irish-style entertainment lined up, St. Patrick’s Thursday is definitely the party day of the week. Come along and dance the jig and bet big on St. Patrick’s Derby charity race. Jockeys will be racing to raise money for the Injured Jockeys Fund, a very worthwhile charity.
The last day of the Festival brings us Gold Cup Day with two Grade 1 events and three competitive handicaps. Who will win this year’s Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup? For more information on each of the days visit the Jockey Club website.
