4/5Pleasant Stay
Reviewed on 20th September 2023Hotel staff welcoming, views from hotel room a delight. Lovely breakfast. Ideal location for sightseeing, restaurants, walks and shopping. Hotel rooms were a little dated and tired and in need of a refresh. Room Telephone didn’t work and shower pressure was very low. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will visit the area again soon.
Tired and in need of a refresh. Telephone didn’t work and shower pressure was very low.
Only ate breakfast, which was good.
Service a little slow as there was only one member of staff serving.
4/5Will visit again
Reviewed on 19th September 2023We stayed Monday to Monday and really enjoyed our time there. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was delicious and having stayed at the sister hotel in Gerrard's Cross found it to be slightly better, even though the menu is the same. I was pleased to see real ale on draught at the bar and the wine was to our taste too. My only criticism would be that there's not much choice for vegans, when you're there for a week.
Drifted in and out
Not sure we knew there was one
Extremely good
Clean and comfortable
Best placed for exploring the Malvern hills
Not enough choice for vegans. Also, don't assume that just because food is vegan, all vegan's will like it. Otherwise brilliant
Spotless
Well run even when it got extremely busy

Reviewed on 19th September 2023This was my 2nd visit to the Abbey (the previous one was pre-covid) and it provided all that was necessary for my comfort, dining and relaxation during the 5 day stay except for two minor (but important to me) issues.
1. my television set had tuning difficulties to several of the radio stations including my favourite 731 - Classic FM and a solution could not be found.
2. as a coffee lover I was very disappointed with the quality of the coffee both in the machine which was the choice for breakfast and that served after dinner in the restaurant. Perhaps you could get a coffee lover in your hotel to give their honest opinion. After day1 I did not drink it.
On the positive side i carelessly left a pair of trousers in the wardrobe on my departure. I rang the hotel the following day and it was confirmed that they had them and I received a follow up call to say they were "in the post" All handled admirably and without fuss. My thanks.
My room (309) was good, the breakfast just suited me fine and the evening meal always had the variety of food that suited me (I am a pescatarian) and was of very good quality. All the staff I came into contact with were as helpful as they could be and they seemed concerned to make my stay a happy one.
I was a member of the Ramblers Walking Holidays Group and my stay was 10-15 September.
As mentioned above all members of staff i had contact with were cheerful, efficient and wanted to help . Nothing was too much trouble.
Needs a real expert to try and retune the TV to get all stations (may be a problem of the location and the strength of signal available). The room and bathroom could not be faulted.
It was an ideal location as a basis for all our group walking activities and so close to the centre of Malvern fo any shopping trips.
Coffee apart (see above) I found the food available at breakfast and at dinner to be good.
My bedroom and all the public rooms that I used were always clean and tidy.

Reviewed on 19th September 2023Unfortunately my stay was cut short as I had an unfortunate accident in Worcester , so I could only stay one night , but the hotel is fantastic everything was provided in the room , which was very clean . the staff were excellent and breakfast was amazing .A great hotel to stay at if you want to explore the local area
Very clean

5/5Excellent location right by the Abbey and in the centre of town.
Reviewed on 19th September 2023Might be the wrong time of the year, but would have been nice to have some fresh fruit at breakfast.
5/5Lovely Hotel in the perfect location
Reviewed on 19th September 2023The Abbey Is a beautiful period hotel set in the perfect location to explore Great Malvern and the hills. All staff were friendly and helpful and our room was well equipped and the super sized bed was very comfortable. The buffet style breakfast was excellent. We would be very happy to stay again or recommend to others.
4/5Lovely setting but rather bland room
Reviewed on 18th September 2023After a long holiday, staying in numerous hotels, I have worked out the feel good factors. Apart from being a stunning old building in a lovely location, the Abbey doesn’t have any of these features. It is disappointingly bland - standard plain white bedding, 1 dull picture in a large room. UHT milk, one packet of biscuits for 2 people…feels a bit mean considering the price.
Other places, in great buildings and settings, have cost about £50 a night less and offered fresh milk in a flask, small coffee machine, high quality teabags, colourful and stylish interiors reflecting the character of the building. The Feathers in Holt is a good example.
Nice to have free wifi with no password
Just very boring - but large and cool
Stunning building and locati9n
Good average breakfast
Fine but again, no character

Reviewed on 18th September 2023Very satisfied. Room and food were excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Car parking arrangements were good. Bar was well stocked, reasonably priced and I particularly enjoyed the real ale which is not always available in hotels.
A different menu for the evening would be good

5/5Everything about my stay was perfect

2/5Disappointing
Reviewed on 18th September 2023For the price our room was disappointing.
We had dinner in the restaurant on Friday night, and although I found my Bass satisfactory, others in our group were disappointed in their Ale pie, and my wife had to return hers as it was cold.
The breakfasts were a general disappointment spoilt mainly by the cold eggs (scrambled too dry) and the fried eggs very leathery.
The table and bar service was good.

Reviewed on 17th September 2023Enjoyed our stay very much.Clean room with everything catered for especially comfy bed.
Friendly staff overall.
Very good Breakfast which was kept hot.Restaurant food in the evening could be improved ,too much fast food
Chips,Burgers Pizza etc .Continuity of qauntity served ie. my husband ordered a pasta dish one evening liked it so much he oredered it the next evening was a much smaller portion and not as tasty, this was rectified after complaining.Very good service in the bar especially when it seemed to be short staffed and having to collect food and leave the bar unmanned.
Didn't use it .
What wellness area !
Friendly and efficient staff.
Nice room.Comfy bed, good shower plenty of hot water, good tv.
Think 1 pkt of biscuits between 2 is a bit mean !one each would be better and more milk please.
Excellent ,lots to do near the hotel.
Evening meal needs some improvment. Good Breakfast
Hotel and room very clean.
Overall very good ,good ambience friendly staff and well stocked bar.
2/5
Reviewed on 17th September 2023The general air is one of old-fashioned chintz. On two occasions when one of our party requested something of a waiter during dinner the reply was ‘I will have to aske the chef’ . One of the requests was to warm up a pie, the second was to have only one scoop of ice cream instead of three: the chef’s view was not relevant in either case. The quality of food was poor - for example a vegan salad with very little in it, and a pie with a kind of biscuit topping and no pastry, inadequately warmed up in the microwave.
The redeeming features in the hotel were the courtesy of the staff and the size and comfort of the bedroom (except for the fixed shower head in the bathroom)
As above
