4/5Really comfortable bed but dated in places, more like a 3 star
Reviewed on 25th March 2023
My key didnt work the first time. It was a bit dated in the internal parts of the hotel and the fixtures in the room . The bed was comfortable and the ability to have breakfast in the room was a great idea. The front desk was very welcoming

Generally we found our experience good but we're dissatisfied by the standard and cost of the evenings meals. Breakfast good Evening menu poor

4/5Another pleasant stay at The Abbey Hotel
Reviewed on 25th March 2023
Stayed here before in an upgraded room. This time we had a traditional double . Although the room and furniture was a little dated and tired, the bedding and bathroom facilities were immaculate. The staff are all very pleasant and obliging. My only criticism would be be that dinner menu is quite limited, especially if you have special dietary requirements.

5/5Very comfortable historical building in a great location

The location was ideal and building interesting. Staff also excellent along with food in the restaurant if a little dear with the service charge added. We would stay again. Only downside was the rear parking area which was a little tight (I did find some damage) and no access from it to the hotel. Also making the rear garden unusable as a social space.

5/5Very Relaxing Break

We have stopped at the Abbey on a number of occasions over the years. This time yet again we had a very enjoyable 2 night stay. All of the staff, including the booking team who helped us reschedule our stay at the last minute, were very friendly and helpful. We had booked an Elgar King room which had everything in it that you could want, a very comfortable bed, a good sized bathroom and enough storage space. The room itself was spotlessly clean. We ate in the hotel on one evening and the choice on the menu was wide and the food itself was perfectly cooked as were the breakfast hot dishes. We will definitely return to the Abbey at a future date. Found it to be reasonably quick. See main review See main review See main review Room was spotlessly clean

Long wait between courses. We were told approx 15mins but was much longer. Staff seemed extremely busy and seemed inadequate for the no of guests in the restaurant.

4/5Very pleasant stay

Hotel was comfortable, clean and we were given a good welcome. Breakfast was very good but evening meal a little pricey for what it was. Service at meal times and at bar was very good. We found the room rather too warm despite opening window. Didn’t know there was one!

5/5VERY GOOD BUT NEED MY RECEIPT

4/5Good accommodation in an excellent position in centre of Malvern
Reviewed on 24th March 2023
As a Sarova member and as a previous guest on a number of occasions, all was satisfactory except for the supply of barely warm tap water in our room ( No. 303). This was reported to Reception and was resolved for one day only ! However, apart from that negative, everything else was as expected and breakfast was as good as usual in its start to the day.d Very pleased to be given a room upgrade on our Wedding Anniversary. Excellent central position as a good base for local area trips Good snack and excellent breakfast Friendly staff and an excellent rose wine !

4/5Comfortable, good service and good food

A very well positioned hotel with a very comfortable feel. Our score would have been 5 but the only downsides for us were the long distance to carry luggage from the entrance to our room, the number of stairs to negotiate and limited storage in the room. (We're were attending a dance break so had more clothes than for a normal short break.)

5/5Great stay in Great Malvern
Reviewed on 22nd March 2023
Stayed for one night to visit elderly relatives in the area. Very enjoyable stay from initial checking in to final check out. Finally found the car park (even though we had stayed there before a few years ago.). Plenty of space (no charge) and it felt secure. The whole hotel had obviously had a bit of a refurb since we stayed there 3 years ago. Very tastefully done with good ground floor break out lounges with a very relaxed feel to them. Slept in an Elgar King room. Beautifully finished with great decor, lovely comfortable big bed and plenty of wall sockets. Good selection of teas and coffees too. Nice sized en suite bathroom with decent shower. The staff have obviously been very well trained and were all professional, helpful and courteous. Food was good with excellent breakfast options. Table overlooked the Abbey next door. Lovely view. The hotel had a tangible serenity about it with low volume piped music in a lot of the lounge areas. Comfortable spaces and very clean and well kept. Everything was spot on and we will definitely return sometime in the near future. A visit to the Abbey next door is well worth a visit as is the Cafe Nero just around the corner. Overall, we were very pleased. Well done Abbey. Worked perfectly. Overall, everyone was very helpful. Elgar King room. Very comfortable, lovely bed and two nice chairs to sit and watch the television in. Lots of wall sockets too. Nice sized en suite bathroom. Nestled in the hill side in a delightful setting with great views of the Malverns in the distance. Evening meal about average but breakfast more than made up for it. Every where looked spotless. Didn't use it but it looked good.

5/5We enjoyed every minute of it
